The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has launched a public consultation to modernise its Procurement Framework for projects financed by the Bank, with the aim of updating the rules governing the procurement of goods, works and services. The consultation page itself states that the process is designed to gather input from the various stakeholders involved in these procurements.

The consultation includes two key documents: IDB Procurement Policy and the Procurement Regulations for Borrowers. The period for submitting comments will run from 17 September to 31 October 2026.

The initiative forms part of Procure+, a modernisation process spearheaded by the IDB to move towards more flexible, efficient and results-oriented procurement, placing greater emphasis on aspects such as quality, cost, sustainability, innovation, transparency and value for money.
