IDB Approves 2025-2028 Country Strategy for Argentina
The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) approved the 2025-2028 Country Strategy for Argentina, designed in collaboration with the national government. The plan provides for total financing of US$10 billion, of which US$7 billion will go to the public sector and US$3 billion to private investment through IDB Invest.
The strategy’s main objective is to promote sustained economic growth led by the private sector, reduce poverty, and improve government efficiency. To this end, it is structured around three fundamental pillars: fiscal reforms and spending efficiency, economic liberalization and investment attraction, and social improvements focused on health, education, urban conditions, and social protection.
In addition, the strategy incorporates a cross-cutting focus on institutional strengthening and digitization of the public sector, with the aim of increasing transparency, efficiency, and the management capacity of the State.
According to the IDB, this roadmap will help consolidate ongoing structural reforms and create a more dynamic and predictable environment to attract private investment, which represents a key step toward inclusive and sustainable economic development in the country.
