Bolivia – Ministry of Environment and Water – Integral Water Management Program in Urban Areas

The Plurinational State of Bolivia has signed Loan Contract 4647/BL-BO with the Inter-American Development Bank, for an amount equivalent to US$. 130,000,000.- (One Hundred and Thirty Million 00/100 US dollars), which is made up of: US$. 100 million financed by the Inter-American Development Bank from the Ordinary Capital fund and US$. 30 million financed by the Fund for the Promotion of Development (FONPRODE) of the Government of Spain; and it is proposed to use the funds to make payments for the procurement of goods and contracting of works, related services and consultancy services under this programme.

The execution of the Program and the use of the Bank’s financing resources will be carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Water (MMAyA) through the UCP-PAAP Program Coordinating Unit.

The main objectives of the program are:

  1. Increase and improve access to Drinking Water services, under a vision of comprehensive water management, including necessary works to collect and treat wastewater.
  2. Support the improvement of planning and comprehensive management of water and sanitation services.
  3. Support the development and implementation of strategic actions for water security.

The bidding for contracts financed by the loan will be carried out in accordance with the procedure indicated in the Policies for the Acquisition of Works and Goods Financed by the Inter-American Development Bank, current edition, and all bidders from eligible countries may participate in it, as specified in said policies. Consulting services will be selected in accordance with the Policies for the Selection and Hiring of Consultants Financed by the IDB, current edition.

  • San Julián Sanitary Sewerage System and Wastewater Treatment Plant

As they become available, specific procurement notices for contracts to be tendered under the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) international competitive bidding (IBP) procedures and for high-value consultant contracts will be published in UN Development Business. and the Internet Site of the Inter-American Development Bank. All specific procurement announcements issued within the framework of the program will be published in a newspaper with wide national circulation and/or in the State Contracting System (SICOES) www.sicoes.gob.bo, official purchasing site of the Plurinational State of Bolivia.
