On September 25, 2024, the second edition of GovTech Day was held, an event organized by IDB Lab’s GovTech LATAM, which brought together government leaders, technology entrepreneurs, investors and innovation experts from all over Latin America and the Caribbean. This event has established itself as one of the most relevant meetings to discuss the digital transformation of governments and the use of technology to improve efficiency and transparency in the public sector.

Digital transformation and public-private collaboration

GovTech Day 2024 highlighted the importance of adopting emerging technologies to solve the most critical challenges facing governments in the region. The event highlighted the importance of technology to modernize government services, improve transparency and foster digital inclusion. Topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and collaboration between startups and governments to develop innovative solutions were addressed.

The startups were protagonists, presenting innovations that seek to improve public management. These presentations facilitated strategic alliances and strengthened the GovTech ecosystem in the region.

GovTech Day 2024 reaffirmed IDB Lab’s commitment to digital transformation in Latin America and the Caribbean, while highlighting the need to continue working on public policies that drive innovation and technological adoption in governments. With initiatives like this, it is expected that the region will continue to move towards a more digital, inclusive and transparent future.
