CABEI provides US$27.5 million to promote road modernisation in Argentina

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) approved an investment of up to US$27.5 million to finance the Connectivity and Road Development Programme in the Province of Entre Ríos (CONDVER) in Argentina. With a sovereign guarantee from the national government, the project seeks to improve road infrastructure, reduce travel times and strengthen integration between communities and productive areas.

The initiative includes the reconstruction and paving of sections of Provincial Route A08, including the construction of 5.8 kilometres of new road, the rehabilitation of an additional 14.8 kilometres, and the construction of 110 metres of bridges and 250 metres of retaining walls. These works will mainly benefit the departments of Tala, Gualeguaychú, Islas de Ibicuy and Gualeguay, where they are expected to boost the regional economy and improve access to public services.

The programme will generate 450 direct temporary jobs, with 25% of these going to women, and will indirectly benefit more than 1.2 million people. In addition to optimising traffic flow and road safety, it will contribute to land revaluation and the strengthening of local economies.

With this operation, CABEI reaffirms its commitment to sustainable development and territorial integration in Argentina, promoting projects that combine investment, inclusion, and improvement in the quality of life of communities.
